Shot Re-block

Hi everyone,

I re-blocked the latter half of my shot based on the notes in class.  Well, this is still more like layout plus.  :P

That being said, I need to work on her walk backwards, and on getting clearer attitudes and posing/gestures, but I wanted to show this before I went further.

Victor, since this is way over the frame limit already, do you think this shot still works if I don't show the girl's reaction to the dog "approving" at the end?   I actually hadn't intended to show it, but I'm wondering if it needs it.  I do plan on doing a subtle change in her demeanor as the dog is wagging his tail.

Oh, and for the walk right now - I want to overlap the gestures she's doing (stationary, at the moment) with her walking backwards.  That's next!

Hope you like it!

Thanks,
Jamie

  1. Hi Jamie, thanks for showing. I think it's okay not to show her reaction. I may change my mind later, but I'd like to keep the shot a more manageable length for the meantime. There's so much other good stuff in there and I wouldn't know where else to cut! You'll still want to slow down the walk - I think that's what you meant about overlapping the gestures. Also, I'm not buying her eyeline to the dog at the end. Maybe you could move the dog and bed closer to camera? You might need to recompose a little so he doesn't end up too far left.

    1. Thank you, Victor! Great notes. And good point about the eyeline... I was struggling with that.

      See you Wednesday!

  2. Jamie it's looking great! I've noticed when I look myself in the mirror and step back, I sometimes pat myself down while stepping back. Don't know if this will help, but it might cut down the length :)

I love the facial animation you did in the beginning!

  4. Hi Jenny,

Thanks! I'm definitely going to overlap the actions, and have her walking back while doing some adjusting. Just haven't quite gotten to the walk yet. :D
